Montpelier, VT - Conor Casey, an accomplished playwright and Vermont State Legislator, is excited to announce the world premiere of Founding F***ers: The Story of Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold at the Greater Boston Stage Company. This new play will premiere on May 2, 2025, as part of the theater's 25th season, offering audiences a unique and humorous take on the American Revolution.

"It’s 1775, and the colonies teeter on the brink of revolt," Casey's synopsis begins. "After a night of revelry, Vermont frontiersman Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys devise a plan to seize Fort Ticonderoga, a nearby British stronghold. When General Washington dispatches the headstrong Benedict Arnold to relieve Allen of command, it sparks a power struggle that will define their fates and shape the nation."

Drawing from his diverse experiences and passion for storytelling, Casey infuses Founding F***ers with wit and thoughtful commentary. "Enough books have been written about our founding fathers to fill libraries," Casey reflects. "Heroes are immortalized, while others are relegated to footnotes. Founding F***ers explores fragile egos, hasty decisions, and betrayal—asking how we wage revolution when our greatest foe dons the same uniform."

Described as "an irreverent romp through the American Revolution," Casey's play promises a blend of historical fact and uproarious comedy. "Experience the funniest history lesson ever," the theater invites, "as Ethan Allen, with his ties to Vermont, and the infamous turncoat Benedict Arnold stumble their way through the Revolution."

Conor Casey, known for his award-winning play "The Pangs of Ulster" and his role as a legislator in Vermont, combines his passion for storytelling with public service. His work delves into the intersection of politics and human experience, resonating deeply with audiences both on stage and in the chambers of the Vermont General Assembly.
